Which driver among Newgarden, Power, Rossi, Pagenaud, and Dixon has the best chance of winning the 2019 Indy 500?
The final Indy Racing League event took place at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 11. Simon Pagenaud won the race. Pagenaud’s been in excellent form. He’s finished in the Top 10 in 5 of the last 6 occasions.
Pagenaud deserves a long look for a driver that could win on Sunday. However, he may not be the ideal pick. The ideal choice among the favorites may be Scott Dixon.
Dixon was on fire at the previous 6 races. He finished thirteenth at the Circuit of Americas. However, beyond the finish, he scored a second in St. Petersburg on March 10. He also finished second in Alabama on April 7 and also next in Indianapolis on May 11. The next place finish in Long Beach on April 14 was likewise great.
In 2018, Dixon finished third at the Indianapolis 500 supporting Will Power and Ed Carpenter. He’s yet to win this season, but he is due. At the chances, he is the favorite to back.
Which driver involving +1000 and +2000 chances can win the race on Sunday?
Ed Carpenter doesn’t offer far greater odds than the favorites in +1100. There’s a lot to like about his chances, though. He finished second at the 2018 Indianapolis 500. Also, but he’s the sole owner/driver at the Indy Racing League.
He almost won the pole over Pagenaud for Sunday’s race. Carpenter should put his best foot forward on May 26. He’s definitely worth considering in the chances.
Is there a driver involving +2500 and +5000 odds that can win the 2019 Indy 500?
Felix Rosenqvist offers +5000 chances to win the Indianapolis 500. The chances are not a true manifestation of his opportunities. Rosenqvist finished eighth at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis on May 11. Not only that, but he has 4 Top 10 finishes at the last 5 Indy Car events. He deserves a long look.
Conor Daly at +5000 also warrants mentioning. Daly will start Sunday’s race eleventh. Who knows if Daly gets to the race away? He could be in a terrific striking place to pull off the upset.
