League of Legends Worlds Group Stage Day One Round-Up

Legends World Championships League is here. To the Cup of the Summoner, 16 of the worlds greatest teams have started their struggle Following a week of play-ins.
Teams in Group A will have to wait till tomorrow to kick off their Worlds effort but C, Groups B and D have had. From the remarkable return to Worlds to the shock defeat of FPX to J Team of Faker, heres a round-up of all the action from day one of the Worlds Group Stage.
SKT made their return on Worlds at the very first game of the group stage with a victory over Fnatic. It was an intriguing game from the outset as Teddy made a decision to play Kayle into Rekkles and Hylissangs Garen and Yuumi – departing Faker around the Tristana which proved to be effective since the laner that is middle ended up using a 9/0 KDA.
The LCK seed did not hold back because they ripped themselves 21 kills and also secured every dragon of the match.
But the support Hylissang of Fnatic admits that if he didnt think his negative were planning to lose, hes happy to get the mistakes out of the way on.
He said:I have mixed feelings. I feel as we did alright but we had different expectations. It seems much better because I do not think we played well, that we lost – we all left a great deal of mistakes. Im just glad we made these mistakes early on because we have time to correct them.
I believe SKT played well but I also think they played too slow. Though we lost, I took much more struggles than they did and feel as when we were the enemy team wed have snowballed the game faster. Mistakes were made by them but we werent able to capitalise on them and punish them.
I expect us to move far in the tournament but I cant really say just how far. First, we must get out of Groups and if we get out of the category it says a whole lot in my opinion
Group C was known as thegroup of death however RNG are determined to escape it after they obliterated Clutch Gambling with a gold guide.
Clutch made a good start when Damonte baited Xiahou into his jungle to secure Blood with the assistance of the Nocturne of Lira. But their fortune more or less stopped there since RNG three quick kills that were secured to take the lead.
Uzi had the KDA on Xayah, Langxs Renekton was unstoppable and Mings Blitzcrank was a choice because he picked Cody Sun in the team struggle that won RNG this game.
LMSs ahq gave Invictus Gambling a run for their money however, they werent quite able to overcome the champions.
Ahqs ADC Wako was able to best his own counterpart JackeyLove but IG did not provide their opponents the opportunity to snowball. Their game turned around with some skirmishes and staff fights despite losing the first turret along with the Rift Herald to ahq.
Most notably, the LPL third seed compelled a fight across Baron, turned out to their opponents and was able to kill four to eventually end the match in 29 minutes which was the quickest game of the day.
The very first upset of the day came from the match when Team Liquid took down Koreas Damwon Gambling. High expectations were set after their sweep in play-ins and overcoming from scrims for Damwon despite being the seed from Korea.
However, Team Id pulled off an impressive win following Impact solo murdered Nuguri and Doublelift bagged himself a quadra kill. Together with their second Baron buff of the game, the North American side managed to seal a significant victory within CoreJJ and Damwon considers that it wasnt that much of surprise.
He explained:Im really thrilled that we won from a team that I believe a solid team but we believed we would win because were the top seed out of NA and theyre the third largest seed out of LCK.
North America has traditionally been considered as a region on the Worlds point – .
He said:I expect people keep flaming us till the end since it feels much better to win if they dont expect you to triumph .
J Teams success over FunPlus Phoenix was by far the days greatest upset. Even the LMS side made their Worlds introduction when they confronted the number one seed and FPX, that were considered among the favourites of the tournament of LPL, showed there had been a lot that they needed to improve on.
Despite having first blood and taking practically every one of the dragons on the game, FPX appeared weaker in team fights and also J Team were able pick off members of the side and over again.
J Teams FoFo admits that the success came as a surprise and is so confident that his team can beat on Splyce and GAM when theyre ready to keep their form.
He said:We think its really incredible that we beat LPLs first seed and we are really happy about it. We didnt hope to beat them we gave it our all and we wanted to appreciate our time at Worlds.
I have not really thought about whether we will get out of classes or not – I need is for our staff to perform to the maximum of our abilities. If were in good form then I think we can beat the rest of the teams in our group but if we are not, we likely will not have the ability to win some of those matches.
Splyce demonstrated themselves to be a competitor in Group B as they beat GAM Esports in the days previous game.
Humanoid, Splyce laner that is mid was one of the standout players of the match. Levi managed together with his Khazix however, it didnt prevent Splyce from procuring Baron and earning their first win of the championship to EU.
