League of Legends Worlds Group Stage Day One Round-Up

Legends World Championships League is here. After a week of play-ins, 16 of the worlds greatest teams have begun their battle for the Cup of the Summoner.
Teams in Group A might need to wait till tomorrow to kick off their hard effort but C, Groups B and D have experienced an eventful moment. By the remarkable return to Worlds to the shock defeat of FPX to J Team of Faker, heres a round-up of all the actions from day 1 of the Worlds Group Stage.
SKT created their return to Worlds in the very first match of the group phase with a medical victory over Fnatic. This was an interesting match from the outset Hylissangs Garen and as Teddy made a decision to play with Kayle into Rekkles and Yuumi – departing Faker on the Tristana which proved to be incredibly powerful as the middle laner that is Korean ended up with a 9/0 KDA.
The LCK top seed did not hold back because they bagged themselves 21 kills and procured each monster of the match.
But the service Hylissang of Fnatic confesses that while he didnt believe his negative were planning to lose, hes happy to get the mistakes out of the way early on.
He explained:Ive mixed feelings. We had different expectations although I feel like we did alright. It feels much better because I dont believe we played well, that we lost – we all made a great deal of mistakes. I am just glad that we made these mistakes early in the tournament because weve got time to fix them.
I think SKT played well but I also think they played too slow. I feel like when we had been the enemy group wed have snowballed the sport quicker and took longer struggles than they ever did even though we lost. They made errors too but we werent able to capitalise on them and punish them.
I expect us to go far in the championship but I can not actually say how far. First, we must get out of Groups and if we get out of the category it says a lot in my opinion.
Group C was known as thegroup of death however RNG are determined to get out of it once they obliterated Clutch Gaming with a 14k gold lead.
Clutch made a good beginning when Damonte baited Xiahou to secure First Blood with the support of the Nocturne of Lira. But their fortune more or less stopped there since RNG three kills that were fast to take the lead.
Uzi had the KDA on Xayah, Langxs Renekton was unstoppable and Mings Blitzcrank proved to be a decision because he picked Cody Sun off.
LMSs ahq gave Invictus Gaming a run for their money but they were able to conquer the defending champions.
The ADC Wako of ahq was able his own counterpart JackeyLove but IG didnt provide their opponents the chance. Despite losing the first turret along with the Rift Herald their game turned around with staff fights and a few skirmishes.
Most importantly, the LPL third seed compelled a struggle about Baron, turned out to their opponents and was able to kill four to eventually end the match in 29 minutes which was the quickest game of the day.
When Team Liquid took the Damwon Gambling of Korea the upset of the afternoon came in the fourth game. Large expectations were set for Damwon following their clean sweep in beating and play-ins G2 at scrims despite being the third seed from Korea.
However, Team Id pulled off an impressive win after Impact solo killed Doublelift and Nuguri bagged himself a quadra kill. Along with their Baron buff of this match, the North American side managed to seal a significant victory over Damwon and CoreJJ believes that it wasnt that far of surprise.
He said:I am really thrilled that we won from a team that I believe a solid team but we believed wed win because were the best seed out of NA and theyre the third largest seed out of LCK.
North America has been regarded as a region over the Worlds stage – .
He explained:I hope people keep flaming us until the end as it feels much better to win if they do not expect you to win
J Teams victory over FunPlus Phoenix was undoubtedly the biggest upset of the afternoon. The LMS side left their Worlds introduction when they faced LPLs number one seed and FPX, who had been believed among the tournaments favorites, showed that there were a lot that they needed to improve on.
Despite having blood and carrying nearly every one of the dragons in the match, FPX appeared weaker in staff fights along with J Team managed to pick off members of the side over and over again.
The FoFo of J Team admits that the success came as a surprise and is confident his team can defeat GAM and Splyce if theyre ready to keep their form.
He explained:We think that its really amazing that we beat LPLs very first seed and we are really happy about it. We didnt hope to beat on them we gave it our all and we all wanted to enjoy our time at Worlds.
I have not actually thought about if well get from groups or not – I want is for our team to do to the maximum of our abilities. If we are in great shape then I think we could beat all the other teams in our group but if we are not, we likely wont have the ability to win some of these games.
Splyce demonstrated themselves to be a competitor in Group B as they conquer against GAM Esports in the days last game.
Humanoid, the 19-year-old mid laner of Splyce was one of those standout players of the game. Levi managed with his notorious Kha zix to assassinated Humanoid but Splyce didnt prevent from securing Baron and making EU their first win of the tournament.
