Marcus Tregoning aims to take Mohaather Stakes at Ascot on Champions Day.
A impressive winner of the Stakes in his seasonal debut, and he was well celebrated to the 2000 Guineas, Mohaather was kept off the trail since by trauma.
Since those behind that day at Newbury included Haydock Sprint Cup winner Hello Youmzain, it has been hard to bear for Tregoning.
“The strategy together with him is that he will go to the QEII – that’s what we’re trying to do,” explained Tregoning.
“I don’t actually have to get a run in to him first. He is not that difficult to get match fit, so that I do not need a jog before and I’ll get a lot of work .
“It has been dry ground for the majority of the summermonths, and I am not sure he needs it too firm. It will not be at the time .
“As far as we know, the Greenham type appears all right – horses that finished behind him have come outside and won Group Ones, therefore it probably was a fantastic race.
“It was a carrying performance, and I would really like to acquire the QEII together with him.”
