Romelu Lukaku says his move to Inter Milan came at the perfect time and has awarded him the”boost of energy” he desired.
The 26-year-old switched into the Italian side on a bargain from Manchester United last month.
The Belgium international has played twice in his 2 games, firing Inter into the summit of Serie A, along with also the forwards believes he has been granted new motivation after 2 seasons at Old Trafford by his move to Italy.
“I just knew I came here to play for a large, big team,” Lukaku told Sky at Italy. “Where the expectations are really, really high and the dream of this club is moving in the right direction.
“Therefore that it was the ideal step for me personally. 26, [years old] for me personally it was the perfect move.
“I mentioned to (Kwadwo) Asamoah, I truly made the right move, this is the energy, the increase of energy that I needed.”
Inter boss Antonio Conte has heaped praise because of his kind on his summertime purchase and Lukaku considers the former Chelsea boss, who had been appointed in June, has the leadership qualities to be successful in the San Siro.
When asked exactly what it was like working with all the Italian, Lukaku replied:”It’s really good.
“It’s extremely demanding when you’re on the coaching area and before the match and in half-time.
“Tactically, he’s really ready, a great motivator and good for the group. He’s a excellent leader of men, so that you play with heart.”
Their options have strengthened with the signing up of Lukaku’s former team-mate Alexis Sanchez to a season-long loan from Manchester United
Lukaku, who scored 28 goals in 66 appearances for United, considers the Chile international forward can be the extra”small spark” that Inter need.
“[Alexis is a] great addition for the group,” Lukaku explained.
“You always want to play the best gamers, but he is a terrific man too. We’ve got a dressing room full of players prepared to work for the team of great men and full.
“So he is a terrific addition to it and hopefully he can put in that little spark to the group that we want.”
