Tottenham could not be in ‘better hands’ with Mauricio Pochettino as manager, says Ossie Ardiles


Tottenham could not be in”better hands” together with Mauricio Pochettino as manager, according to former Spurs midfielder Ossie Ardiles.
Since arriving at the club in 2014, Pochettino has headed Tottenham for their greatest Premier League reached the Champions League final for the first time at the history of the club and conclusion.
Despite question marks over his long term long run, his commitment was reiterated by the Argentine to Tottenham a month after revealing that he has turned down job opportunities elsewhere.
Ardiles, that had a spell as Spurs manager believes the former Southampton boss could find anyone better than the club.
“Pochettino is an absolutely wonderful manager so that we can’t be in better hands to be perfectly honest,” he said.
“He works extremely hard, he’s a very, very honest guy, an honest director, really good .
“When you go there there’s a family setting which he’s created, thus we cannot be in better hands. He will stay for a longlong moment.”
Tottenham are third in the Premier League table after five games, only two points behind Manchester City however seven adrift of leaders Liverpool.
Despite a disappointing defeat at home to Newcastle, Ardiles can compete at the table’s top and believes Spurs have had a good beginning.
“[It’s been] very optimistic. I believe there are two teams to beat – Liverpool and Manchester City – but I think we’re one of those teams that can beat them and we will try and fight with them all the way,” he added.
“We’ve got a very, very strong group. That showed last year and at the Champions League. We have a very strong group but we still need to be a tiny bit better and that I expect we will do it this year.”
