The USC Trojans place and will try last week out of their memory bank. USC fell victim into some pesky BYU Cougars team in Provo in overtime. The last play USC has been a Kedon Slovis interception. It was his fault as the ball was tipped as well as the BYU defense created a terrific play in the ball to make a win.
It had been tipped, but a part of that was on Slovis. He did not expect to be enjoying with this season. J.T. Daniels’ year is finished and the onus fell on freshman Slovis to find the work finished. It’s not a simple job for Slovis. He expected to find out behind Daniels, however, Slovis is getting thrown to the fire.
Since Slovis gets valuable expertise that’s fantastic for the near future of USC Football, but he hasn’t looked ready at this point in his career. I’m not especially full of Daniels. Sam Darnold to Daniels has been a major step down, but Daniels is the ideal option that the Trojans have in their roster currently.
Slovis comes with an arm that much has ben. From what I’ve watched, his goals are looked into by him too easily. It does not work, although You’re able to eliminate that in high school, and also against defenses in college. Moving into camp, Slovis was flirting between the No. 4 and 3 quarterback on the depth chart. Utah have done their homework with this USC team.
The Utes go in a rare place as favorites night into Friday. Utah are generally a black horse in the summit, but since the No. 10 team in the nation, there is a goal on their backs. Utah are currently coming from a win over Idaho State. They had a bye while USC needed to battle against a BYU team that is good. The Utes’ greatest win this year came from BYU. That’s something USC struggled to do. Head under for our complimentary Utah vs. USC select.

Last week, BYU proved to be a tricky test for the USC offense. Slovis had a tough time. He had two touchdown passes, but his 3 interceptions were finally the gap in the match. The interception was the dagger for the Trojans. This week, play like this against Utah since Utah are going to win the match in regulation, and forget about semi. On the summer, Slovis has passed for 4 interceptions and five touchdowns, so he has seen a few downs and up.
Utah went into this year as one of the defenses in the country, and so farthey have not done anything to suggest they aren’t one of the best defenses. They are not on a Clemson or Alabama level, but they are in another tier of defenses. Utah input Friday night 8th in the nation with only 239 yards allowed per game. They’ve been great at defending the pass and run, together with 174.3 yards allowed per game through the air and 65 yards per game on the ground.
It’s essential to be aware that Utah aren’t all shield. It’s their backbone and has them as a No. 10 team, but Tyler Huntley is greater than capable of putting up points on the board to the Utes. Even the dual-threat quarterback has thrown for 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. He has also rushed for 99 yards on 17 carries with an additional touchdown on the ground. The Trojans’ defense is 86th in the nation with yards. Huntley should be able to receive his things. I really don’t see the Coliseum being too intimidating on a Friday night.
I think the deciding factor in this game will be Slovis contrary to the Utah defense. Daniels would have made this an intriguing match, however, Slovis’s ability are missing. Don’t expect much to change within one week for your freshman. Utah have had two opponents the week from Northern Illinois and Idaho State. Expect these to be ready for this particular match. They been studying USC for two weeks now. Start looking for a 33-23 or even 35-24 win on Friday.
